Students of all ages are encouraged to sign up to enrichment activities that excite and challenge them. The programme is diverse and offers opportunities across a multitude of disciplines including music, performing arts, sport, science, languages and public speaking.

Beyond the Classroom

Our enrichment opportunities can be divided into categories including: Clubs and Committees, Performing and Expressive Arts, Sports, Languages, Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Social Impact, Trips and Events and the Genius Method: Leadership and Volunteering.

There is no charge for the vast majority of enrichment opportunities however some may involve a fee for additional costs, to cover specialist materials or external tuition.

Music

The Music Department at UIS offers all students the opportunity to study music utilizing world class facilities with a team of passionate music educators. UIS also has a large auditorium suitable for performances.

Visual Arts

The visual arts allow students to function as artists as well as learners of the arts. UIS encourages all students to be artists and develop artistic curiosity about themselves, others and the world.

Students develop their ability to think creatively and express themselves through a variety of art forms, mediums and techniques.

Drama

The Drama programme for MYP and DP is an exciting and dynamic sequence of work which allows students to experience the subject both theoretically and experientially.

Sport

Sport is an essential component of UIS life. It not only promotes good health, but it also teaches students in terms of individual and team commitment and achievement. We encourage all our students, whatever the age, to achieve their full potential, whilst ensuring a commitment to fair play and encouraging a philosophy of team spirit.

Student Leadership

Students are exposed to a variety of leadership opportunities that reflect the unique blend of interests within the community. The leadership roles link back to various phases of the core IB Programme and encourage students to actively discover ways in which they can develop themselves and connect to other cultures, through service and actions.

Our interest-based activities give our students the chance to develop their skills in new and interesting fields, in addition to giving them the chance to learn through real-life experience.
