UIS is a non-selective School and does not require children to take an entrance test. UIS is an inclusive School and welcomes applications to our school all year round from students of all abilities.
The education at our school is carried out under the supervision of the Swedish School Inspectorate (SW. Skolinspektionen) and is performed in accordance with the standards set out in the Swedish Education Act and other applicable Swedish regulations on International Schools.
To be considered for admission to Uppsala International School , students must have a temporary resident status in Sweden or meet one of the following four criteria:
In addition to meeting one of the above criteria, applicants must be registered as residents of Sweden with the Swedish Tax Agency (Skatteverket) and possess a Swedish identification number (personal number or temporary number) to be enrolled at UIS.
Before the student’s start date, proof of address in Sweden is required. This can be obtained through the Skatteverket website.
UIS will accept students with additional educational needs if the school can support and provide a meaningful education for them. Parents are required to inform the school, at the time of application, of any known pre-existing educational needs, including physical or medical conditions, that may affect the school’s ability to provide a safe and appropriate learning environment for the student.
Failure to provide such information may result in any offer of a place being withdrawn before entry. If such issues are disclosed after entry to the school, it may result in the immediate termination of the contract between the school and the family.
